Harvey Tschirgi Stars In Army-Navy Game
Harvey Tschirgi, left halfback for the Navy team, came through again Saturday in the big football classic of the season, the annual Army-Navy game, by leaping in the air and spearing a 52-yard pass which he carried over the Army goal for Navy's only touchdown. It was by far the most spectacular play of a thrilling game played before the biggest football crowd of the season. This play came in the third quarter when the Army lead by a score of 10 to 0.
This one hair-raising play wasn't all of Harvey's contribution in this game. He starred in both offense and defense in a score of other plays. He was injured in the latter part of the third quarter and when he left the game the 25,000 Navy fans gave him a hand befitting a hero returning from war.
This game closed Harvey's college football career. It was the last game of the season and it is Harvey's last year at Annapolis.
