I, James Bobbitt of the County of Fremont in the State of Iowa, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say:
First, after all my funeral expenses and lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my estate, real and personal:
Item the 1st—I give to my son Benjamin C. Bobbitt, one eighty acres of land, off the north side of the quarter section on which I live to be divided by running a line from east to west through the center of said quarter section. I also direct my heirs make him a lawful title to it after he becomes of age. I also direct that my loving wife hold the remaining parts of the land during her natural life and to obtain the benefits thereof after the death of my wife Margaret Bobbitt the same to be disposed of according as the heirs may think proper. I also direct that my two daughters, Martha Bobbitt and Mary Bobbitt receive my property to the amount that I gave my Nancy Ann Baylor when she was married. I also direct that my wife has and holds all my property during her natural life, after which I desire that the same may be divided among my natural heirs, Nancy Ann Baylor, Martha E. Bobbitt, Alfred R. Bobbitt, Mary Bobbitt, Benjamin C. Bobbitt, and my three grandchildren, Albert Martin, Victor Martin and Eddy P. Martin after a reduction of the property and money they received out of my estate that fell into their hands after the death of Joseph H. Bobbitt. I also direct that the part of my estate given to Benjamin C. Bobbitt be equally divided among the above named heirs should he die before he becomes of lawful age or married. I also direct that my son Alfred R. Bobbitt enter in as guardian for my grandchildren, Albert Martin, Victor Martin and Eddy P. Martin take that part of my estate given them and appropriate the same to the advantage and pay the same to them when they are of lawful age.
I do hereby constitute and appoint my said son, A. R. Bobbitt and my son-in-law John Baylor as executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the twenty-fifth day of July in the year of our Lord, Eighteen hundred and sixty-five.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said James Bobbitt in our presence to each of us he acknowledged the same at the same time published and declared the above instrument subscribed by himself to he his last will and testament and we at the testator's request and his presence signed our names as witnesses thereto.
