Fatal Accident in the Sewer Construction at Charles City.
C. C. Citizen:—Last Monday morning a little after 10:00 o’clock, Joseph Salvino, pipelayer in the sewer construction, was killed by the bank caving in and crushing him so hard as to cause speedy death. The accident happened in the sower being constructed on Ferguson street. The first warning of approaching danger was given by the timbers giving in and the sand rushing into the place where the men were working. The men tried to get out, Salvino reached the first staging where he was caught, with the result above stated. Immediately on the occurence of the accident the other laborers proceeded to investigate the results, and soon found that Salvino was beyond rescue.
