Isaiah Stansberry was son of George and Margaret Stansberry. Other children (1860 census) were John Stansberry (b. abt. 1841 in Ohio), Mary Stansberry (b. abt. 1843 in Ohio), Isaiah (b. abt. 1843), Louis Stansberry (b. abt. 1845 in Ohio), Millard (Milliron) Stansberry (b. abt. 1850 in Iowa), William Stansberry (b. abt 1853 in Iowa) and Ed Stansberry (b. abt. 1860 in Iowa). By 1870 James (b. about 1862 in Iowa) was added to family and older children no longer listed with family in Illyria township, Fayette County. George and Margaret Stansberry may be buried at the Illyria-Highland Cemetery as there are three spaces listed with no details and a fourth, Thomas L. Stansberry (8 Sept 1874-13 Dec 1874) with notation "son of Milliron and Elizabeth (Howard) Stansberry; owner of lot, George Stansberry; farmed Section 6, Illyria."
Isaiah and Hope Jane Stansberry were found living in Maynard, Harlan township, Fayette County in 1880 with sons Joseph (b. abt. 1870), Edward (b. abt. 1872) and George (b. abt. 1874). In 1900 Isaiah and Hope are still living in Maynard. She reported mother of 7 or 4 ? children with 2 living. Isaiah, Hope and George are buried in Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard, Iowa. The booklet, "Maynard, Iowa 1873 - 1973" has a picture of business and professional men of Maynard taken in 1905 ... Isaiah is on this photo but the quality is poor. He was the mayor of the town in the early days and listed as an early resident. Looks like son Edward moved on to Nebraska where he raised his family and in 1900 was listed as grain buyer. No info on Joseph.
