I have transcribed John R. Adney's records as follows:

Died: 23 Jun 1909, West Union, Iowa
Spouse: Sarah Scurlock Death: 11 Jun 1908, Langley, Arkansas (corrected city name)
Married: 1854, Schuyler Co., MO (Missouri marriage records have 12 Jan 1854)

"He enlisted in 1861 in the 31st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, name given in History of Crawford and Richland Counties 1884, in Company K, from Rolling Ground; again, in Company D from Town of Crawford. This regiment was recruited at Prairie Du Chien, quartered in the barracks of old Fort Crawford that was unfit for human occupancy. An epidemic of measles brokeout and many died. Adney recovered partially and left invalid for life,and granted in 1863 a full disability pension of $72 a month."

On Feb. 6, 1902 Jonathan W. was enrolled in the Bureau of Pensions, as an invalid at Johnson City, Washington Co., Tenn. by cert. No. 311.840, but from what date not stated. Probably died there.

Left Knapps Creek in 1870, went to Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Brown County, Minn., there for 11 years. Married (2) to Elizabeth M. Bowder. After Jonathan's death she married Amos Moore. She died in Hillsboro, Oregon."

3. Andrew Jackson "Jack" b. Oct. 1, 1858, Knapps Creek, Wisconsin, died May 1898 at Aitkins, Minn. from a gunshot wound. A Lumberman at Brainard, Minn. Left no children.
4. John Whetzel b. Sep. 7, 1860, Knapps Creek, Wisconsin, died at Veblen, So. Dakota.
5. Catherine b... at Knapps Creek, Wisconsin. Married H. D. Wadkins (Watkins); living in 1903 at Langley, Kansas.

John R. Adney writes: "These two Adneys living in 1882, joined a Northern Pacific Railroad survey party, and never heard of, more than that an Adney died on that expedition and they called the place "Adna" (John wrote in"Montana?") because he died there, according to information of their uncle Daniel Adney. The only Adnas given in Bullinger's Guide is one in Colorado not on the Northern Pacific, and another money-order post-office on the Northern Pacific near Chehalis. In Lewis Co. Washington, which would be the place."
