I am also trying to figure out the Cahalan clan because they intermarried with my family at least twice, and maybe 3 times, and they seem to have traveled together perhaps. I will also email you because sometimes I do not make my way back to these sites. I have a packet of Cahalan information I could send. I have been trying to figure out the relationships between the oldest, I believe born around 1820s, who are John, Johanna Cahalan married to Patrick Garvey (an ancestor of mine) and James, married to Sally Griffin. I suspect they are brothers and sister. Then there are lots of another generation it seems, includign Daniel, son of James and Sarah (Sally), who seems to have a lot of descendants to this day...
The Fitzgerald you mention might be Robert Fitzgerald of Manly Junction. He was the nephew of Patrick Garvey, son of Mary Garvey and John Fitzgerald, who remained in Dingle, Ireland. he was also married to a Johana Cahalan, and I think she was the daughter of John. It is quite confusing. There was a John Garvey, who might have been my Grandfather, who lived with M.F. and Mary when he was 15..probably a farm helper.
So I shall copy this and send it to you by email also. mg
