According to cemetery records, T. J. and Mary Ann Carter are buried in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette, Iowa. Recorded as follows:

T. J. (Thomas J.) M. D., b. Aug 4, 1804, d. Feb 25, 1882, age 77 yrs 6 mo 21 dy. (Father) Sec. A., Lot 236

Mary Ann, d. Nov 7 1889, age 81 yr (wife of T, J.) (Mother) Sec A, Lot 236

The Fayette County Historical Center, West Union (info on this site) may have additional info and obits are a possibility as newspaper microfilms for this period are available at the center. Hope this helps.
