Golden Wedding at West Union.
On the evening of the 12th inst. Mr. and Mrs. George L. Noble of West Onion were permitted to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. The reception was in the home they occupied since 1857 and there were present all their children and grand-children. One daughter came from Providence, R. I., and another from Grand Island, Neb. There was also a large company of old friends and neighbors. Pastor Crowder talked to them; Editor Talmadge read a poem for and to them, and S. B. Zeigler talked wisely and beautifully for the purpose of leading up to the presentation of two elegant chairs. Other presents were given them, among them being two purses of gold—one from the children, and another from city friends.
