Mary T. Lanning passed away at the home of her son, B.A. Wilkinson, near Superior on Friday, Sept. 2, at the age of eighty four years and ten days. She was a devout christian and member of the Methodist Church since her early childhood days.

Short services were conducted by Rev. Watson of the Superior church at the home of B.A. Wilkinson on Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The remains were shipped to Belle Plaine on the early train Saturday then taken to Koszta, Iowa cemetery. The remains were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Wilkinson and M.B. Wilkinson.

Contributors note: Robert Wilkinson and Mary Ellen Lanning were married 2 February 1852 in Iowa County. She had been living with her son since the death of Mr. Wilkinson.
