Rosella Jane (Massner) Obermann of Burlington, IA was born October 12, 1930 to Adolph and Rose Massner in Morris, Minnesota and was taken home on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Rosella was married to William Obermann on August 24, 1951. They had three children. Rosie's faith was central in her life, and she was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Burlington,Iowa.
Rosie had 11 brothers and 1 sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Earl (Ada) Massner, Kenneth (Rose) Massner, Clarence (Betty) Massner and William (Phyllis Knobloch) Massner.
Rosella worked many jobs during her lifetime, including Winegard, G. E., the Burlington School System, and waitressing. One of Rosie's greatest joys was going to church and singing hymns with her church family. One of her favorite hymns was, The Old Rugged Cross. She was always known to have candy in her purse to hand out to all the kids! Rosie also loved to sew and make quilts. She was known for her fabulous homemade chili and chicken noodle soup which she shared freely with many. Family came first for Rosie, as she dedicated much of her life going to countless recitals, band concerts, sporting contests, and tending to whatever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren needed. Rosie dedicated her life to others, always willing to lend a hand without question. She never gave up and had a "just do it" attitude.Rosie's faith in God and consistent values will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosie has 8 grandchildren. There are 4 great-grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Rosie also has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her care and love.
