Dorothy Laprise Remick

Dorothy Remick, 85, of La Harpe, died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home.

Born September 1, 1937, in Prairie Grove, IA, she was the daughter of Fred and Gladys Boughton Schilb. On January 26, 1956, she married Floyd "Briggs" E. Remick in Burlington, Iowa. He died on June 9, 1999.

Dorothy worked at the Ordinance Plant and bartended. She also worked as a CNA.

Dorothy enjoyed going fishing, baking and cooking. She enjoyed doing crafts, including plastic canvas and doing word searches. Dorothy especially loved and treasured time spent with her family.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy (Vicki) Remick of Kennwick, WA and Floyd "Jim" (Linda) Remick of West Point, IA; adopted son, Leroy "Radar" McDaniels; granddaughter/daughter, Dorothy (Ryan) Schultz of La Harpe, IL; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Hester Steele of Burlington, IA and Sue (Bob) Wisener of Burlington, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, two daughters, four sisters, two brothers, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Prugh Chapel, 317 North 4th Street.

The Graveside Service for Mrs. Remick will be 2:30 PM Friday, January 13, 2023, at Oquawka Cemetery.
