Carol P. Staff, 81 of rural New London, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, May 17,2021 at the Great River Hospice House.
Born February 3, 1940 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lester and Inez (Dietsch) Stigge. She married Marlin Staff October 28, 1956 in Pleasant Grove Church. He died January 17, 2002.
Carol was a dairy farmer.
She was a member of Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Her hobbies included collecting succulents, canning, cooking, baking, painting and crafting, and spending time with family. She loved her Jersey cows.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula (Bob) Mehaffy of New London; five grandchildren, Erik, Jason, Mindy, Ashley and Alyshia; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Erma Reynolds of Oneida, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Sandra Gerken, son Leon Staff, grandson Billy Mehaffy, two sisters, and two brothers.
The memorial service for Mrs. Staff will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22nd at Lunning Chapel. Rev. Kathleen Wohlers will officiate. Inurnment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established.
