Dolores R. Propst, 97, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. No services will be conducted, Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester is caring for the family.
Dolores was born on July 6, 1925, in rural Marshall County in Iowa the daughter of Charles and Ida (Meier) Amendt. After graduation from High School, she attended business college. Dolores married Donald Propst on March 4, 1945, in rural Marshall County, Iowa; two children were born into this union. Don and Dolores moved to Manchester in 1967. She worked as a bank teller at Baldwin Bank in Baldwin, Iowa for 20 years and then at First State Bank in Manchester until her retirement in 1987. Dolores enjoyed volunteering at Camp Courageous where she was head of for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her children, Sharon (Mike) Chapman of Manchester, Kevin Propst of Indianola, Iowa; grandchildren, Scott (Kristin) Chapman of Ames, Iowa, Dan (Sarah) Chapman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cory (Amber) Chapman of Waterloo, Iowa; and her great-grandchildren, Drew, Jack, Noah, Lily, Sennah and Andrina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Amendt; and husband, Donald Propst.
