Oliver DuFoe of this city stands at the head of a family represented by 77 living members-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As direct descendants of Mr. DuFoe there are 11 children, 38 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren now living, and in addition there are 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren dead, making a total of 104 in the three generations who owe their existence to the venerable patriarch who stands at the head of the family. Mr. DuFoe was born August 23, 1817 at Three Rivers, Lower Canada, and moved from there to Illinois in 1838 when he was 21 years of age. He was married June 22, 1839 at Rockford, Ill. to Miss Hanna L. Dyer. They cane to Delaware County and settled on a farm in Union Township March, 1, 1859. His wife died April 4, 1859, at the age of 41 years. He married again October 13, 1859, his bride being Cassandra Lyons. They resided on a farm in Union Township until December, 1898, when they moved to Hopkinton, which has since been the family home. Mr. DuFoe has been quite infirm for the past few years, the result of old age and a long and active life. Of the living members of the family the oldest child is 62 years of age, the oldest grandchild id 44 and the oldest great grandchild is 23. We wonder if there is another man in this section who can show a greater number of descendants than Mr. DuFoe.-Leader
