Dr. H. A. Dittmer at Manchester thinks he now has pretty near an ideal lighting plant in his residence on Main Street. The Dittmer house has for years been lighted by a Swem gas plant, but recently the doctor has had the plant enlarged, added to and improved, with the result that the light is much brighter and more uniform. The gas plant feed twenty lights, distrusted over the residence, and it is estimated that the expense of lighting house and supplying gas for cooking purposes will not exceed $40 per year. If this estimate should hold good it will be the cheapest light and fuel on the market. The light is said to be more powerful than electricity. – Strawberry Point Mail Press
