William Carl Morgan, son of Carl T. and Zella E. Morgan, was born May 6, 1920 at Garden Grove, Iowa, and died August 2, 1977 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, age 57 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

He spent most of his life Decatur and Wayne Counties.

He joined the United States Army Air Force in 1941, serving four years, the last three were in England during World War II.

He married Betty L. Adair, Aug. 7, 1948. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Jerry Lee, Robert Eugene, Eddie Bill, and Sandra Louise.

Preceding him in death were his father; brother Guy; and sister Marjorie.

Survivors are widow Betty, Corydon, Iowa; four children: Jerry and wife, Donna, and grandson, Jacob, Corydon; Robert, Fairfield, Iowa; Eddie and Sandra, both of Corydon; mother Zella Morgan, Garden Grove, Iowa; three brothers and wives: John and Lois Morgan, Weldon, Iowa; George and Gieula Morgan, Prairie City, Iowa; and Richard and Marge Morgan, Emerson, Iowa; nine sisters and husbands: Grace and Eddie Scott, Garden Grove; Lois and Melvin Jones, Wichita, Kan., Frances and Walter Bond, Leon; Virginia and Wallace Lasley, Eddyville; Betty and Neil Braby, Garden Grove; Eloise and Bill McKern, Cherry Hill, NJ; Juanita and Jack Leonard, Chariton; Beverly Petty, Ottumwa; and Patricia and Louis Pool, Humeston; nieces; nephews; [and] friends.
