Nancy Walters
Nancy Jane Walters, 49, Ottumwa, a former Davis County resident, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 1989, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
She was born July 23, 1940 in Davis County to Hubert and Mary Foster Stockham. She was a bookkeeper for Bill and Gib Anderson Insurance in Bloomfield and later was owner and operator of Nancy's Flowers in Bloomfield. She moved to Ottumwa in 1986. A 1958 graduate of Thornburg High School, she was a member of the BPW in Bloomfield and a former Pulaski City Council member.
She married Merlin Walters on Feb. 4, 1967 in Lancaster, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Starla at home and her mother, Mary Stockham of Ottumwa.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Marilyn Butler. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the family.
