My Grandfather Elias Enockson/Enocksson and his large family came to the United States from Sweden in 1869. We know they came through Chicago early summer and were in Denison, Iowa later that summer. Eventually getting to Cherokee County that fall. In a family Bible Elias had written in Swedish some notes that a relative in Sweden translated for us. One of the notes was that 3 of their children died of measles in July, 1869 on their travels and were all three buried in the same grave. Our relative in Sweden translated the locatin as being Galwa City. I just recently came upon a Web-Site that lists a Galway in Dallas County Iowa. Anyone know anything about this Galway? Was it a location the settlers might have came through on their way to Denison and parts North?
