Mary Ruth Talbert was born the daughter of Clarence Homer & Hazel (Smith) Stout on May 17, 1920 in Redfield, Iowa. She died in Kansas City, Kansas on October 22, 2011 at the age of 91 hears. Mary was born in Stuart, Iowa and graduated from Stuart High School in 1938.
In 1943 Mary and Archie Talbert were married. This marriage was blessed with one son, Dickie Talbert. Mary and Archie lived in: Minburn, Greenfield, Omaha and retired to Comstock, Nebraska. Archie died October 17, 1995. Mary was a clothes steam press operator, pressing uniforms for the war effort during WW II. The rest of her life she spent as a homemaker. She was an avid gardener. She would can hundreds of quarts of produce and fruit each year. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, quilting as well as watching sports on television. She loved the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Royals.
Mary is survived by her son Dickie Talbert and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie; brothers: Leon, Spike, Loyal and Robert and a sister Maxine.
A graveside committal service was held at 1:00 pm Friday October 28, 2011 at Harper Cemetery near Redfield. Professional arrangements were being handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Redfield, Iowa.
