Myrtle E. York, age 90, who was born on December 3, 1921 in Bagley, MN passed away on December 11, 2011 in Adel, IA.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 2 p.m., both at Ernst Funeral Home, Waukee.
Myrtle loved camping and traveling with her husband Nile. She was proud of having been to 46 of the 50 states, Canada and Mexico. She was very fond of the color green. Myrtle helped with 4-H for over 20 years and received a Honorary Service Award for her dedicated service.
Myrtle is survived by her loving husband of 71 years Nile; sons Tony (Janet) York and Tim York, both of Adel; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Katherine Martin; brothers Dickey, Paul, Harry and Wesley and sisters Helen and Claire.
