Hi there:
I am researching my 2nd great grand-uncle in the county of Clayton between the 1856 census and the 1860 census.I have narrowed it down to this area because of the census'. I have found the family in the 1856 census by their names and by the 1860 census he is no longer listed with the family.
Here are the names of the family:
Robert Carty - Father Born 1822 Ireland
Lucy Ann Carty - Mother Born 1832 Vermont
Eddson or Addson Carty - son Born Canada 1852
Ada Carty - daughter Born Canada 1855The family is also enumerated with the Richard Ross family in both census'. Ross was Lucy Ann's maiden name. Richard Ross died in Monona, Clayton, Iowa in 1868 and is buried there. Ada J Carty died in 1873 and is buried in Taylor County, Iowa. Robert and Lucy and eventually the rest of the sibling born afterwards ended up in the Berthoud, Larimer, Colorado area.
I just can't seem to find the burial or death of the oldest child Eddson/Addson and am looking for any help that you can give me. The reason that I am giving you his name like I am is because the 1856 census is very blurry and I just can't seem to clear it up in anyway shape or form .
Thank You
