Osceola, IowaClifford Leo Jones, son of John Jones and Ada (Turner) Jones was born May 17, 1920, in Murray, Iowa. He passed from life Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, at 89 years of age.
Clifford attended school in Murray and Missouri. He attended college in Osceola. He was united in marriage to Charlene Saddoris, March 3, 1941, in Grant City Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army from October of 1942 to October of 1945. Clifford has lived the past 57 years in Osceola. He worked several years installing floor covering all over southern Iowa. He was a member of the Osceola Lions Club; Davis-Pence Post #69 of the American Legion in Osceola, Osceola Eagles, and the Square Dance Club.
Clifford enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking and going to craft shows. He enjoyed traveling with Charlene, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The relatives who preceded Clifford in death were his parents, two sisters and five brothers.He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Charlene Jones, Osceola; son, Lanny Jones and wife Liz of Osceola; daughter Madonna Brink and husband Jerry of Newport News, Va.; daughter, Malenna Jones of Osceola; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services were held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Monday, May 17, 2010, at 3 p.m. with military rites by the Davis-Pence Post #69 of the American Legion.
