Stephen “Jamie” Henrichs
Stephen “Jamie” James Henrichs, son of Stephen Randall and Patti Jo Ward Henrichs, was born Dec. 30, 1975, at Creston and died Dec. 23, 2001, of injuries sustained in a pickup train accident in eastern Union County. He was 25.He attended East Union Schools and graduated from Murray High School in 1995. He married Brenda Sue Rhodes on Aug. 14, 1999, at the Pleasant Valley Church near Thayer. The couple became the parents of a daughter, Rebecca.
Mr. Henrichs spent his early years in Thayer and had lived in Van Wert and Murray before moving back to Thayer about a year ago. He was employed by Bell Farms Hog Confinement. He attended the Pleasant Valley Church in Union County, was a member of the Thayer City Council and a FFA member when he was in high school.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and working on small engines and lawn mowers.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue, in Thayer; his daughter, Rebecca Dawn Henrichs of Thayer; a stepson, Kyle Scott Rhodes and, stepdaughter, BreAnn Marie Rhodes of Thayer; parents, Stephen and Patti Henrichs of Murray; two brothers, Matthew John Henrichs and his wife, Stephanie Gwen Henrichs, of Thayer and Jesse Joe Henrichs of Murray; grandparents, Dwayne and Darlene Hernichs and Wanita Ward of Thayer; great-grandmother, Falma Beardsley of Murray and parents-in-law, William and Goldie Rhodes, of Ames; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
Services for Mr. Henrichs were Dec. 28 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Marty Burgus officiating.
Casket bearers were David Rhodes, Jeff Rhodes, Charlie Cochley, Jerry Henrichs, Ray Negley and David Negley. Honorary bearers were Dwight Welcher, Troy Johnson, Marshall Barkema and Dick Rutledge. Interment was in the Murray Cemetery.
