Mrs. Ries, 89, Dies At Murray

MURRAY – Mrs. Jessie Hannah Ries, 89-year-old life-time resident of the Murray community, died Friday night at her home north of Murray.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Murray Church of Christ with Rev. W. W. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Union cemetery and arrangements were in charge of the Watts and Soll Funeral Home.

The daughter of John and Elizabeth Gaumer, she was born Sept. 23, 1873, in Clarke county. She was educated in the Clarke county schools and was a teacher in schools in the Murray area for nine years.

On Feb.7, 1900, she became the bride of John N. Ries at Murray and they were the patents of six children.

Mrs. Ries was a member of the Murray Church of Christ.

Surviving are her sons and daughters, Mrs. Oma Little and Roscoe Ries of Des Moines, William of Murray, and Mrs. Idema Kelly of Martensdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and infant son, and a son, Oren Cecil Ries.
