Funeral Home Obituary:
Donald W. Chamberlain, 90, of Fort Collins, passed away April 11, 2009.
Donald was born August 1, 1918 to John and Bertha[Stull] Chamberlain in Osceola, Iowa. He moved to Colorado as a teenager and later enlisted in the Army's Railroad Division and served overseas in the Pacific for four years. He worked as a mail carrier in Fort Collins for nearly 30 years. After retiring from the Post Office he worked in the mail room at the First National Bank of Fort Collins. He was active with the Elks, spending countless days playing cards and sharing stories and jokes.
Donald married Esther Mason on September 18, 1940. She later passed away. Surviving are their two children, Donna Fairchild and Wayne Chamberlain; two grandchildren, Michelle Stauffer (Allen) and Pamela Banwell (Steve); great grandchildren, Amber Duchaine (Jeff), Loren and Lance; Bryanna, Brandon and Skyler Stauffer.
Donald married Helen Spicer in September of 1977. She later passed away on December 29, 1989. Also surviving are her two children; Kathryn Topping (Richard) and Patricia Davis (Bryan); four grandchildren, Brian Topping, Lisa Weishaup (Matt), Lori Topping and William Payne; great grandchildren Joshua and Brandon Murphy, Derrick Jones, Davion Hawthorne and Torrey Miller-Topping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John and sister, Dorothea.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Allnutt Drake Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009, also at Allnutt Drake Chapel with interment to follow at Grandview.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colo. 80526.
