MRS. J. L. JONES OF TRURO PASSES

Funeral Held There Last Friday for Native of Clarke County

Funeral services were held last Friday from Kale's Funeral home at Truro for Mrs. J. L. Jones, who died at her home there June 18. She had been striken with a cerebral hemorrhage the same day.

Mrs. Jones was 67 years of age. She was the former Lydia May Delong, daughter of William and Rhoda Delong, and was born Aug. 26, 1878, in Clarke county. Her entire life was spent in Clarke, Madison and Greene counties, with the exception of a year in Colorado.

She was married May 30, 1899, to John L. Jones. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom are living. Her husband died in 1942.

The children are: Mrs. S. G. Mease and Mrs. S. J. Kinder of Truro, Mrs. F. A. Larson and Keith Jones of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. M. B. Cunningham of Norwalk, Benton Jones of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. C. V. Day of Perry. She also leaves 12 grandchildren.

The Rev. Frederick Cooper conducted the funeral rites last Friday. Burial was made in the Field cemetery at Truro.
