County Held Responsible
Creston, Sept. 6. – E. P. Perry of Osceola, was awarded damages against Clarke County for $4,000. The case was before Judge Towner. The action was brought into Union from Clarke County. Perry in trying to get a threshing machine over a bridge met with an accident. The engine crashed through the bridge and Perry was injured, going down with the engine. He was scalded, pieces of flesh being cooked and falling from his leg. It is said that at one time the case could have been settled for $300.
