Gov. Cummins Offers Reward for Murder
of L. L. DeLong.

Sheriff Scott received the following proclamation Wednesday:

By the governor, a proclamation.

Whereas, Information has been received at the executive office of the state of Iowa to the effect that on September 8, 1904, L. L. DeLong came to his death in the city of Osceola, county of Clarke, in this state, under circumstances which indicate that the crime of murder was committed by some person to the authorities unknown; and

Whereas, It has been represented that the person who committed the said crime has not been apprehended and is still at large;

Now, therefore, I, Albert B. Cummins, governor of the state of Iowa, by virtue of the authority in me vested by law, do hereby offer a reward of two hundred (200) dollars for the apprehension of the said murderer and his delivery to the proper authorities to be dealt with according to law; the said reward to be paid only upon the conviction of the said party so apprehended; and provided that this reward shall not be paid for the conviction of any person under arrest at the time this proclamation is issue.
