JUDITH LORRAINE BOLTON
Tipton
Judith Lorraine Bolton, 90, of 54 Hidden River Dr., Tipton, died on March 10, 2022, at Cedar Manor.
She had dementia and poor mobility for the last few years. Her husband cared for her at home until almost Christmas of 2021.
Judith was born on Aug. 14, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Raymond and Eleanor Scheffler.
After Graduating from Pulaski High School and a year at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, she married Duane Bolton of Tipton, at Millington Naval Air Station, becoming a military wife there and later in San Diego, Calif.
Following military service, they returned to Tipton, with Judy becoming a farm wife.
In 1960 they bought and operated Mecham Travel Service in Iowa City until 1976. This gave them the opportunity to travel the world, making numerous trips to Europe, Asia, South America and also visit the homes of many of the Foreign Exchange Students they hosted. One of these students, Masanao "Mike" Murai of Japan, became like a son and they helped him immigrate to the U.S., and he now lives in Hawaii.
Judith is survived by her husband, Duane Bolton.
No formal memorial service is planned, but her family appreciates your kind thoughts and prayers, with heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all of the help and care given by many good neighbors, friends and caregivers.
