LLOUD WARDEL.
Died, at the home of his son, Robert, three miles, northwest of Nashua, Lloyd Wardel, on Monday, at the age of 71 years and 7 days.
Mr. Wardel was born in Indiana Jan. 1, 1829{?}. When Lincoln called for volunteers, in 1860, to put down the rebellion, he willingly responded enlisting in Company E. Ninety-sixth Illinois Volunteers. The funeral was held from the home of his son, where he died. Wednesday at 10 o’clock a. m., Rev Sutton officiating, and the remains were interred in the Beck cemetery.Source Unknown – probably local newspaper
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave indicates he was born in 1830 and died in 1900; however, the age does not agree with that. Also, the name is spelled Wardell. It also shows he was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery
