Floyd F. Malzer, 73, of Cherokee passed away Monday, July 17th in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 20th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.
He was born on May 30, 1927 at Hurley, South Dakota to Frank and Ann (Goettertz) Malzer. He was married to Corinne Cobb on February 4, 1948 at Parker, South Dakota. He had worked as a mechanic all his life retiring in 1988. He had lived in Cherokee for the past fifty-one years residing at 443 Sumner Street. Prior to this he had lived in Parker, South Dakota. He was a member of the I. C. Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Francis and Dennis Malzer.
He is survived by his wife Corinne, three daughters; Sharon McCoy and her husband Miichael of Red Oak, Iowa, Diane Moore and her husband David of Larrabee, Vicky Peterson and her husband C.A. "Al" of Cherokee; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
