Requiem High Mass was celebrated Monday for John W. Lawler, 59, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. A J. Breen, celebrant. Thomas Skram was crossbearer, James Frank and Roger Huffman acolytes. The Holy Family Girls Choir sang the mass, accompanied by Shannon Johnson at the organ. Attending the services from out of the city were Mrs. Ralph Wilson, Beverly Hills, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Lawler, Helena, Mont., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lawler and and daughter, Cathy, Minneapolis. Pallbearers were Ross Potter, M. E. Birdsall, Henry Hettler, C. Shinofield, Carl Haase and Ralph Mellem. Clausen-Worden Post of the American Legion was in charge of military rites under Cmdr Hughes Bryant. Color bearer and guard were Harry Borcherding and Stanley Patterson. Henry Boyce was chaplain. The firing squad consisted of Robert Berry, Ed Babcock and Porter Hubbard. Maynard Odden was bugler. Burial was at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. The Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
