FORMER MASON CITYAN WEDS - Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Lucille Urbansky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Urbansky, of Chicago, formerly of Mason City, and Anthony J. Skrundz, son of Mrs. Mary Skrundz, performed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chicago June 26, the Rev. A. J. Milcheski officiating at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Skrundz is a graduate of the Rockford high school, taught in this vicinity and was owner and operator of the Central cafe in Mason City before going to Chicago.
The church was decorated with archways of flowers, ferns and palms. Nuptial music was played and sung and while the bride placed a bouquet on the Blessed Virgin's altar, "Ave Maria" was sung.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown trimmed with Chantilly lace having a fitted bodice and a full skirt which extended into a train, edged with deep lace. Her long veil of silk net was edged with Chantilly and held by a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a cascade of calla lilies, lilies of the valley, and orchids, tied with a white satin ribbon. Her 3-strand pearl necklace was a gift from the bridegroom.
Miss Annie Urbansky, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and was attired in a pink chiffon gown. She had a short pink veil held by a tiara of pink flowers and carried a cascade of orchid carnations tied with pink satin ribbon. She wore a rhinestone necklace.
The bridesmaids, Miss Regina Urbansky, youngest sister of the bride, Miss Loretta Skrundz, sister of the bridegroom, MIss Lottie Bykowski and Miss Patricia Mee, were attired alike in orchid chiffon gowns, rhinestone necklaces and wreathes of pink flowers. They carried cascades of pink carnation tied with orchid ribbon. Miss Margie Ponke, cousin of the bride, as flowergirl, wore a dress like the bridesmaids and carried a basket of pink carnations tied with orchid ribbon.
The bridegroom was attended by Bruno Swinder, bestman, and Theodore Urbansky, Jr., brother of the bride, Robert Bellomy, Stanley Janezko and Stanley Zych, ushers. Bruno Guzo carried the rings on a white satin pillow.
The bride's mother wore a grey and purple floral silk print with white accessories and the bridegroom's mother had a black and pink flowered silk print with black accessories. Both had corsages of pink carnations.
Following the nupital [sic] mass, a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party, immediate family and friends. A 3-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, centered the table. A reception was held in the evening for relatives and friends.
Since leaving Mason City the bride has been employed in the office of C. W. Marks Shoe Co., in Chicago for 4 years. Mr. Skrundz served 4 years with 85th and 88th divisions overseas. He is employed in Chicago where they will live after a wedding trip to Wisconsin.
