Watts Appointed to Special War Assignment (1942)

WICKARD NAMES ASSISTANT

WASHINGTON - Agriculture Secretary Wickard today appointed Lyle F. Watts, regional forester from Portland, Ore., as his assistant with a special assignment to coordinate farm labor activities of the war department.

Watts has been with the forest service since 1913, and organized the school of forestry at Utah agricultural college in 1928. He was born in Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, and was graduated from Iowa State college.
