Funeral services for Hilda Giebelstein, 94, Bennett, were held July 3, 1989 at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. D. L. Gardella officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin, Terry, Allen and Joe Giebelstein, Gary Grage, Jon Cronkleton, Larry and Dean Ballenger. Burial was in Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Mrs. Giebelstein died June 30 at Mercy hospital in Davenport.

The daughter of Charles and Wilhelminia Meews Regennitter, she was born Feb. 16, 1895 at Bennett. She married Ben Giebelstein Feb. 16, 1916 in Bennett. He died in 1949. She was member of the Bennett American Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Mother and had held state offices in the Amvets Auxiliary.

Mrs. Giebelstein is survived by 2 daughters, Alice Grage and Darlene Ballenger, both of Bennett; 3 sons, Delmar, Clarence and Melvin and Virgil, both of Bennett; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons and a great-grandchild.
