Funeral services for Maria Pace, 61, Sunbury, were held June 16, 1989 at Lacock Funeral Home Durant, with burial at the National cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Mrs. Pace died June 14 at Mercy hospital in Davenport.

The daughter of Joseph and Mathilda Schneid, she was born April 12, 1928 in Augsburg, Germany. She married Marvin Pace in Augsburn Aug. 7, 1951. She was a self-employed upholsterer, owning and operating Pace Upholstery in Sunbury.

She is survived by her husband; 2 sons, M. Newt, Sunbury and John, West Liberty; 2 daughters, Valinda Teague, Sunbury and Viola Mays, East Moline, Ill. and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and a son.
