Funeral services for Iva M. Worby, 72, Iowa City, were held Aug. 20, 1988 at George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City, with the Rev. Leon Aalberts officiating. Burial was in St. John's Catholic cemetery in Lisbon.
Mrs. Worby died Aug. 18 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.
The daughter of Douglas and Nettie Wagner Baker, she was born Nov. 23, 1915 in Tipton. She attended the Tipton schools and married Gilbert J. Worby in 1931 in Illinois. Before moving to Iowa City in 1976, she and her husband farmed in Cedar county. She was a homemaker and worked for Hillcrest Hall dining at the University of Iowa before retiring in 1973.
Mrs. Worley is survived by 4 sons, Darrell, Stanwood; Donald, DeRidder, La.; Dean, Iowa City and David, Coralville; 3 daughters, Fonda Brannaman, Mechanicsville; Donna Cruse, Solon and Diane Yeggy, Manhattan, Kans.; a sister, Orhta Hohnbaum, Davenport; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 2 sisters.
