Funeral services for Ruth C. Hamilton, 97, Tipton, were held July 18, 1988 at the First United Methodist church in Tipton with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Sylvia Gould was the organist and pallbearers were Jack Kindle, Conway McCutcheon, Henry Lewis, George Sissel, Lynn Phelps and Don Armstrong. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mrs. Hamilton died July 14 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton following an extended illness.
The daughter of Frederick and Mary Powell Morehead, she was born July 31, 1890 in Tipton. She married John Hamilton Sept. 22, 1911 in Clarion. She was a telephone operator for 55 years and a past member and officer of the Pythian Sisters.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Arlene) Kindle, Bettendorf; a son, Jack Hamilton, Belton, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister.
