Funeral services for Hilda Boettcher, 87, Tipton, were held June 21, 1988 at the United Church of Christ in Tipton with the Rev. Donald Sondrol officiating. Betty Trevathan was the organist and pallbearers were Melvin Thiering, Elmer Kunde, Harold Wulf, Victor Wulf, Harlan Rixe and Ray Deerberg. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Boettcher died June 17 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.

The daughter of Fred and Alvina Hansen Bauer, she was born July 6, 1900 near Bennett. She attended rural Cedar county schools and married Fred Boettcher Feb. 12, 1919 in Davenport.

Mrs. Boettcher was a housewife and a lifetime resident of the area. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband; a granddaughter, Mrs. Ken (Diane) Bland, Tipton; a great-granddaughter and 3 sisters, Mrs. Clara LaMaack, Durant; Mrs. Alma Thiering, Tipton and Mrs. Edna Rixe, Tipton. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
