16 December 1987 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Larry A. Wiskus, 47, former Tipton resident, were held at Trintiy Lutheran church, Mason City, Dec. 11 with the Rev. Delmar Jacobsen officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Murley Severtson and the Rev. Randy Kasch. The body was cremated following services.

Mr. Wiskus died at the Mason City hospital Dec. 7.

The son of Henry P. and Eunice Wagner Wiskus, he was born at Tipton Oct. 27, 1940. He graduated from Tipton high school. He was married to Sandra Friedricksen at Olin May 25, 1958.

Mr. Wiskus owned and managed the AAMCO Transmission company in Mason City for 21 years. He was a real estate agent and appraiser in Mason City. He was also a licensed pilot. He had operated a furniture store in Tipton before going to Mason City.

He was a member of Trintiy Lutheran church, the Mason City Jaycees, having served as president; the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, the Mason City Commercial club, the University of Iowa "I" club and the YMCA in Mason City.

Mr. Wiskus was also a member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, a past member of the North Iowa Fair Board, the Mohawk Booster club, NIACC Booster club and the Mason City Country club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Michael, Minneapolis, Minn. and Matthew, Mason City; a daughter, Mrs. Brent (Michele) Odegaard, Minneapolis, Minn.; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Henry P. Jr., Tipton and Wesley, Clear Lake and 3 sisters, Mrs. Rod (Bernice) Jones, Vinton; Mrs. Harold (Pat) Husman, Anamosa and Mrs. Jim (Terry) Jefferson, Sparata, Wis.
