December 6, 1927Double Wedding at Glenwood Last Week
Announcement of the marriage of Ira Harris, son of Mrs. E. E. Harris, 505 Oak street, to Miss May Peterson, daughter of Peter Peterson, of Harlan, and Tony Morton, son of Harry Morton, La Vista place, to Miss Peter Mary Sims of Stevens Point, Wis., in a double ceremony performed at Glenwood Tuesday of last week, came as a surprise to friends of the two couples here. The double ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. H. Freedline, pastor of the Glenwood, M. E. church.
Mr. Harris is a well known local young man, and has been employed for some years with the Christenson Brothers store here. Mr. Morton is also a local young man and has been operating the Tire Service company, West Second street, since purchasing it from Gaylord & Baxter last spring. Miss Peterson and Miss Sims are also well known in Atlantic, where they have been employed for several years. Miss Simms was formerly night superintendent at the Atlantic hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Morton will make their homes in Atlantic.
