Monday afternoon the surprising news was circulated about town that Mrs. Lovina Cornell was dead. Her death came as a great surprise to her friends most of whom did not know that she was ill. She had been sick but a day and her illness was not considered of a serious nature but from time to time during the past yeur or two she has had attacks of heart failure and it was this that ultimately caused her death. She was taken sick on Sunday and about one o'clock Monday was apparently seized with an attack of heart failure as the end came alınost instantly and without a struggle.

Lovina Muldoon was born in Ireland August 11, 1813, and came to America with her parents when a small child locating at Lyons, lowa. In 1861 she was united in marriage to Jas. Carroll and about thirty years ago they removed to Arcadia, Carroll county, where they resided for some years and then moved to Carroll. Here Mr. Carroll died in 1890. August 25, 1893, deceased was married to Jas. Cornell of Glidden and since that time has made her home here. Mr. Cornell died seven years ago.

Mrs. Cornell was a member of the Church of God of Glidden and an earnest, conscientious woman. She was an active and helpful member in her church and also in the W. R. C. of which she was a member.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Cabbage Wednesday afternoon at the Church of God and the remains laid to rest in West Lawn cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her death three sons and three daughters. They are Mrs. Mary Clark, Mrs. Lizzie Dana of Omaha, Mrs. Nellie Watt of Boone and the sons, Robt. who resides most of the time here, Thos., of Chicago and John of Huron, South Dakota. All were present at the funeral except the two latter.
