The Democratic Herald – Sept. 6, 1865

DRUNK AND DISORDERLY – Yesterday, Lieut. Charles A. Brannon, of Butler County, was stopping at the Julien House waiting for the train going east. When the omnibus called for passengers he put his baggage in, but being under the influence of liquor forgot to get in himself. Soon after he made up his mind to reach the train by means of the hack, and again called for his baggage, but was of course told that his baggage had gone. At this he became boisterous to such a degree that the porter took him in hand and without ceremony passed him into the street. When the Lieut. gets sober he will be ashamed of the exhibition which he made of himself.
