Emily Ruth Sampson, 64 years old, of Lamont, IA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her home following a short illness.

Services will be at a later date at the Stavanger Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ossian, IA.

Emily was born May 21, 1960, the daughter of Clarence Ole Sampson and Donna Marie (Houser) Sampson.

She was a housekeeper at the West Union Care Center in West Union, IA, for many years and a caretaker for her parents as they aged. She was a wonderful cook and when she moved to Lamont, she worked at Casey’s in Manchester, IA, as a donut and pizza cook. Emily enjoyed animals, especially her beloved cats and dogs, and she loved being a member of the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, IA, where she was a past mission board member.

Emily is survived by her cousins, including Leslie Houser and Wesley (Shari) Houser, all of Eagle Grove, IA, and her close friend, Susan Crawford of Lamont, IA.
