Thomas R. Baldwin, 69, of Independence, died Tuesday, March 29, at East Towne Care Center after a short illness.
He was born May 29, 1941, in Buchanan County, son of Clifford Henry and Frances Hazel Malcom Baldwin.
He graduated from high school in Jesup in 1960. Mr. Baldwin served with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He worked at Wonder Bread Bakery in Waterloo, Riley Construction in Ossian, Wapsipinicon Golf Club in Independence and was a groundskeeper at Buchanan County Fair in Independence.
Survived by: three brothers, Jim (Peg) of Hazleton, Bud (Sandy) of Waterloo and Bill (Eloise) of Fairbank.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home, Independence, with burial at a later date. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 7 p.m. military service.
