Mary Jane Miller, 67, died November 3, 2011, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. A Funeral Mass is Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mary Jane was born in Lake City on July 13, 1944, the daughter of William and Agnes (Ortner) Nees. On August 13, 1972, Mary Jane married Lloyd Miller in Boone. In earlier years, Mary Jane worked as office manager for Des Moines Stationery in Des Moines and Brice Engineering and Archway Cookies in Boone. Later, she worked as a secretary for Boone County Family Medicine, retiring in 2009.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Todd Miller, and a sister Verna Nees. Mary Jane is survived by her husband Lloyd of Boone; a daughter Teresa Davis of Urbandale; a son Chris (Aleasa) Miller of Boone; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother Lloyd (Betty) Nees of Coon Rapids; two sisters Shirley (Lee) Fick of Seabeck, WA, and Marvel (Allan) Aiken of Sequim, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall in Boone on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. A Vigil Service is at 7 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
