Looking for anyone who has ties to early Black Hawk County, Cedar Falls area. I have a letter written by my 3x great-grandfather, Henry Van Sickel dated 1865 from Cedar Falls, Iowa. He is living there and evidently his brother, Egbert Van Sickel, lives close by. They were from the Flint area of Michigan. I also have a fantastic photo of a LARGE family group from a photographer in Cedar Falls, in the photo there is a tent with an upper case "R" on it. I'd be happy to send this photo to anyone who is interested in Cedar Falls history or anyone who can possibly identify some of the people in it. The only people that I can positively identify are Henry Van Sickel, Sr. and his wife, Anna Benham.
