Services Held Monday for Mrs. Lauzon

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Lauzon, 67, of Waterloo, were held at the O’Keefe & Towne Funeral home, Waterloo, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. George G. Hunt of Grace Methodist church of Waterloo officiating. The body was brought to La Porte City for burial beside her husband in West View cemetery.

Relatives attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jurgene of Mallard, Mrs. Alma Crotts of Ft. Dodge, and others from Waterloo, Brandon, and La Porte City. Mrs. Lauzon died at St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo, of a complication of diseases after several years of declining health.

Born here, she spent her early years in the La Porte City community, where she was born Jessie Mabel Clark, daughter of James and Margaret Clark, on Oct. 9, 1884. When a young woman, she left La Porte City to reside at Ree Heights, S. Dak.

On Dec. 21, 1909 she married Henry Lauzon in South Dakota. The couple moved to Waterloo in October 1926, where she resided the rest of her life. Mr. Lauzon died June 18, 1949. Three infant daughters, one brother, and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Allen of Waterloo and Henry, at home; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ada Abbott of La Porte City and Mrs. Mary Woolman of Waterloo, and four brothers; Walter Clark, DeSmet, S. Dak.; Milford Clark, Brandon and Gifford Clark and LaVerne Clark, Evansdale.
