Telegraph to Cedar Falls-

We understand that the Dubuque and Sioux City R. R. Company are taking subscriptions for the construction of a telegraph line to Cedar Falls. Messrs. Stimson, Stout and several other gentlemen, have made liberal subscriptions. Platt Smith, Esq., the attorney of the company, will visit the towns on the line with a subscription paper next week. If the requisite means are raised, the line is to be completed by the first of January. Towns that want a telegraph station must do their part.

The company gives the subscribers lots in Cedar Falls, Waterloo or Independence at catalogue price for the money advanced. A telegraph line will be of great advantage to millers and wheat buyers as well as the people generally. Stations that get a telegraph office will control the best trade and attract a better class of settlers than those that have none.
