Paper: Dubuque Daily Times (Dubuque, Iowa)
Page: 1Mrs. Price, of Cedar Falls, concluded that her husband had been drunk long enough, so she loaded up her market basket with stones demolished the windows of Dan Cortright’s saloon and whatever whiskey bottles and whiskey heads were inside the saloon within stoning range, and at Ebert’s saloon smashed all the windows, and nearly everything inside. Her husband, in the saloon, was so drunk that he did not know what was going on, unless it was a free fight, pitched in and kicked Ebert until he could see stars. Price was sued by Ebert, and when a time came for a hearing, plaintiff failed to appear, the defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined $1 and costs.
